Set up and manage multi-cloud clusters using the Cluster API

Thursday 24th May -  11:00

Karan Goel, Google

Getting Kubernetes to work across multiple cloud providers is a tricky endeavor, but one that eliminates cloud provider lock-in, while adding another level of redundancy. The new Cluster API is a Kubernetes project to bring declarative, Kubernetes-style APIs to cluster creation, configuration, and management. In this talk, Karan Goel (Google) will show you how you can use the new Cluster API to set up and manage clusters across multiple cloud providers. This talk will be very practical and pull from real-world-scenarios. We will talk about why multi-cloud deployments are painful today. We will be doing some live coding, and showing you how the Cluster API can make machine upgrades safe and simple (even across clouds). If time permits, we will also be demoing cluster migrations between cloud providers using the Cluster API.
